The combat mechanics are mostly the same as those in the original Dork. There are slight improvements, but they need a lot of work. Combat is repetitive and shallow.

Additional improvements have been made to the combat mechanics to increase relevance of various stats and change their impact on combat.
Also enemy stats on spawn are now based on player stats (see commit messages for more details).
However, I'm leaving the issue open to indicate that I'm open to suggestions that would improve combat mechanics (changes to the backend logic and math that is, not huge changes).
If you have big changes to suggest, they might be addressed in a different release.
A major rework to the combat system involving different moves instead of just "attack" could vastly improve the game and make combat much more interesting. This will be addressed in the next release.
