Dear Community,

As some of our longstanding users may recall, EdgeNet stands as a sophisticated system of controllers tailored for Kubernetes in edge environments. Presently, it operates within the EdgeNet Testbed. However, owing to the complexity of the codebase and the evolving technological landscape, we've embarked on a pivotal transformation. Our aim is to migrate the project into a structured framework, streamlining low-level operations and leveraging automatic code generation.

Based on our testing outcomes, this strategic shift has notably accelerated development pace. Concurrently, we've opted to refine EdgeNet's feature set, prioritizing functionalities essential for testbed operations while optimizing the core components. In essence, our focus is squarely on fortifying EdgeNet's stability, enhancing its efficiency, and positioning it for seamless integration into production environments. Nonetheless, we recognize there's much ground to cover, and we warmly welcome any support.

This announcement pertains to the integration of kube-builder and the optimization of controller logic within EdgeNet. Consequently, some features may temporarily lack support (though they will be reinstated in due course, with only core functionalities presently implemented). A comprehensive changelog will soon be made available, alongside updated documentation.

We encourage you to engage with us regarding any queries or insights on EdgeNet within this thread.

Thank you,

Ufuk

I am happy to announce that we had our first release with the new repository! The code and the documentation is still largely missing, but the core functionality is now here. Next steps will involve having a stable product with a better task system. All of the updates can be followed using the issues and the projects tab.

Thank you everyone!
