Have you tried Carpenters Blocks with a Rainbowood Beam? That one might be good for your purposes.

Oh yeah I guess I could use Carpenter's Blocks. I'm more used to playing versions beyond 1.7 so I forget that's a thing.

But yeah, I got some Rainbowood last night, and I wanted to make a door with it, and I was deeply saddened when I saw it produced a boring Oak door. Of course, retrospectively, until 1.8 there was only one door type so I shouldn't have been surprised, but was disappointed nevertheless. So I guess it's more of a suggestion than a bug lol... obviously free to ignore, will probably just use Carpenter's Blocks...
