Setup

  • Browsers and versions: Chrome & Firefox
  • MediaWiki version: 1.31
  • Database version: 5.7.22-0ubuntu0.16.04.1
  • PHP version: 7.0.30-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 (apache2handler)
  • Pivot version: 2.0.0
  • Extension version (if connected to the issue): TreeAndMenu 4.2.2 and DynamicSidebar 1.1

Issue

TreeAndMenu extension doesn't work at all with this theme, unable to create either trees or menus.

DynamicSidebar doesn't load custom sidebars like it's supposed to (no group sidebars, no category sidebars, no personal sidebars)

It appears I'm unable to use any extension that enhances the functionality of the sidebar with this skin, which is a shame because I'd love to be able to use this skin but a more robust sidebar is definitely required for my purposes.

This may be the why Extension:AddThis does not work on Pivot, despite being documented as working.

AddThis is built into the skin. You just have to turn it on.

I am working on a fix for use of sidebar extensions with Pivot. I just haven't got around to testing it yet.

AddThis works except for the Sidebar options - they don't appear in Pivot but appear in Vector and Timeless, and LocalSettings.php has the right AddThis settings for Pivot. The Share heading appears on the side bar, with nothing under it

Is there an update on this? I'm using the latest version of Pivot, and would love to be able to use DynamicSidebar, which is used on some Wikimedia projects, so the extension is likely to remain maintained. Would be terrific to use it with Pivot... we are actively trying to find a workaround...

Trying to figure out how to make the usual sidebar hack work, the issue may be that the hack hasn't been updated for 1.35 yet. Or, the HTML is wrong and I can't figure out how to specify it to get it to show up? I'll have to switch back to vector and see if it works there or not on 1.35. I'm guessing not.
