Key is your encryption key, the option "--key" can encrypt important data. Basically, you just need to put some kind of passphrase. Some OS don't support this or just don't have the required libs and stuff installed, if that's the case, just consider removing the --key option. This is also suggested if you are playing with a trusted friend. If you have any more questions, ask.
