Getting weird results with different environmental contour plot options

I am working on creating some environmental contour plots for buoy data from NOAA 52200. I followed the MHKiT example, but I am getting some strange distributions, especially with PCA.

Are there any suggestions to improve the contours to better represent the data?

Hey @jtgrasb thank you for you interest in MHKiT. It looks like you are using Tp although the plot says Te. If so this issue is detailed in #249 and is assumed to be because of the binning of the data. Can you confirm my understanding of the problem? If so I will close this in favor of not duplicating issues.
