Rclone does not support pushing to S3 though a signed URL, which is what we need for DUM and @collinss-jpl was not able to push or copy an object to our bucket.

We can wait for that feature to be implemented.

We can ask if using signed URL to push data is a requirement or if we can find a different way to secure our buckets. @viviant100 Let's bring that to the SA meeting this Tuesday

In addition, if used with DUM, the rclone binary would have to be installed as a prerequisite.

Updated this ticket to be a more general COTs research task to include both rclone and potentially other software resources.

📆 04/2024 status: Moved to right due to change in priority. #84 to be completed first.

Deferring this to later build, as needed. DUM works sufficiently as it stands right now. Will revisit if tool requires an increase in scope when more users are onboarded.

This will not be going to SWG review because it is an internal technology task.
