Design & implement a configurable system by which players can track the status of their horses, and manage those statuses.

Potential avenues for this system include:

Hunger/thirst tracking, and providing food/water
Injuries from damage, remediable through first aid
Illnesses & immunization
Exhaustion & heritable endurance, and the risk of foundering when over-exerted
