SAP BW source support ?

I think we all know why there is no SAP BW source support here but I would like to just make it official that it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. You should change your package description from plural "systems" to singular "system" not to get people like myself too excited. ;)

I'm sorry for asking beginner questions here; I have never worked with any SAP product and know nothing about them, but as the integration specialist in my current project I'm tasked with making "SAP BW" data available in Kafka.
In a call with someone from the "SAP BW" team they also used HANA to refer to it, so I assumed these two names were interchangeable. But now I read this issue from @reisepass and it sounds like this connector will in fact not do what I need.

Can someone clarify? @elakito
And for someone unfamiliar with the matter, could you @reisepass elaborate on "I think we all know why", because I don't know... thanks!
