When HEML was created, MJML existed already, and Sparkpost even recommended using it in this blog post, which was authored in June 2017, before the first commit to HTML in Oct 2017.

I suppose there were good reasons to build another email html framework. What were they?

Since MJML is the "elephant in the room", it would be nice to mention in this project's README why it was created, and how it aims to be different from MJML.

I think @avigoldman is best placed to answer this, as he created it.

HEML is simple.

You can look over the docks and understand what it is and how to use it in about 5 minutes.

That's what does it for me.
