@chaals is working on the French and Spanish translations. @Heydon can you setup two alternative docs for the translated content to be added straight into?

  • Create two placeholder files for French and Spanish @IanPouncey
  • Add translated text to placeholder files @chaals
  • Add links to each language in the introduction. @iheni
  • Add link rel="alternate" hreflang="... links in the header @chaals

@LJWatson @iheni It sounds like you all have this covered already? I am travelling all of tomorrow without internet access, so will not be able to help during that time except to check Skype for discussion / questions sent my way. See #49 for my suggestion for the hosting strategy.

@chaals Language links have been added to the page for French and Spanish by @Heydon. The new URL is https://thepaciellogroup.github.io/inclusive-design-principles/. I know you have stuff on so let us know the status of the translations and we can put this on hold if needs be.

OK. I'll clean up the sources - there are shorter ways to do this plus there isn't e.g. a machine-readable link from spanish back to english - and expect to upload the french plus a clean version of the spanish tonight...

OK, sorry for this taking longer than I thought.

I think these are ready now.

Thanks @chaals. Where can we get the translations? @Heydon, would you be able to add these to the site?

@iheni Let's talk about workflow first (but yes, of course!)

Thanks @Heydon.

Notes:

  • So far we have offers of German (Tim/Tom), Dutch (VFO), Japanese (Makoto) and Czech.
  • Be good to get Arabic or Hindi
  • @LJWatson to follow up

Workflow:

  • Find a writer and a reviewer for each language.
  • Set up a folder for each language with a short code for the language @IanPouncey / @Heydon
  • Set a stub HTML file in the folder
  • Share with the volunteer (need expand/collapse wording translated as well)
  • Get the page reviewed
