Room to improve

  • Review concepts at the beginning of the next lecture (Christie actually emphasized this as well)
    • For the R intro part, we need to remove something or dedicate one more lecture to it, I skipped some stuff from the written material and did not have time to review anything.
  • Include feedback surveys as part of the participation mark
  • Reference section from the R for data science book relevant to the lectures
  • Make sure code is visible on screen for long enough, don't scroll too fast
  • Make challenge answers visible after the lecture
  • Be sure to connect material to the larger theme of the course (modelling, theoretical ecology, R)
  • More examples
  • Include more reference material that people can follow up on

Good

  • Lectures online
  • Challenges (potentially more of them)
  • Hands on lectures
  • Cool graphs
  • Assignments are challenging but solvable

@mbonsma Can you add some of the general course feedback from the survey they completed today?

Maybe we can put the feedback into the council repo?

Is it too public though?
