The patch causes weird graphical glitches with the UI. The world stays behind it all, and the UI elements leave trails behind them when the world is dragged. This happened on DX9, Windows 10, and I tested playing with and without the mod I'm trying to use.

Thanks for submitting an issue!

Are you using the latest version or the legacy version? If you're using the latest version, I'd recommend trying the legacy version: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Sid_Meier%27s_Civilization_V#Windows_and_macOS_version_mismatch

Or if you're using the legacy version, try the latest version.

Then you'll need to uninstall the patch and reinstall it following the steps in the README.

If that doesn't work, there are some other things you can try, but at this point I'm wondering if this just isn't practical with Windows. I noticed when I was testing that every time I downloaded the Windows binary it was different. Maybe some kind of DRM or tamper protection. The patch doesn't touch anything in the graphics code. It just changes one byte in a function that determines whether achievements should be enabled. So I'm beginning to wonder if it's somehow triggering some sort of tamper protection in the binary. I haven't seen any such issues in Linux.

At any rate let me know if you have any luck. If not I can suggest a few other things.

Switching to the legacy version worked! Thank you :)

Scratch that...

I'm using the Quick Turns mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=220250184) to speed up the AI turns. Using the legacy version fixed the graphical issues, but I just completed the Honor policy tree and didn't get the achievement for it.

I'm sorry to ask the obvious :) but did you re-apply the patch after switching to the legacy version? I would recommend re-applying it and see what the message is.

No worries! I did:

That's the message it gave you when you just ran it? If so, then that means the patch wasn't applied. It gives a different message when the patch has already been applied.

@Ecdysiasttt Did you see my last message? Any luck getting it working? If not, let me know. There might be a couple other things to try.

Apologies, had a busy week with not much time to play civ! If I reapply it then I get this message:

Implies the patch has been applied correctly

No worries. Let me know if you get a chance to test with the legacy version and the patch installed. Thanks!
