Taking a look at the bad code. Upgrade?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Do you guys need an update to the site? I'm going to be pretty bored over the summer, so I was looking at my old projects to update and most likely upgrade and this website was at the top of my list.

Describe the solution you'd like
I was going to update the site to this year's stuff and update any bad code. If I feel like it's necessary I will exchange the codebase to React because I've been using it for a project and it would be beneficial to have a site that is fast, lightweight, and nice-looking with reusable components so it's easier to develop and modify in the future.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I was also thinking about separating the student logging system and taking a look at it and seeing if there were other solutions than the current one which checks the school's IP and checks the student's device if it matches it and I think there were some issues with that.
