The RISC-V ISA defines that when a auipc is issued, x[rd] = pc + imm where imm is formed from the 20-bit U-immediate, filling in the lowest 12 bits with zeros. This check fails, because the design performs a byte-aligned operation before updating the rd which is not the ISA requirement.
