Should translators be aware of their source and destination class? This would make it possible to cache things like whether or not the source properties are present, and mappings between fields.
Eventually, if configuration allowed for it (perhaps in a different form, like externalized code/xml config), this could even allow for translators that have different configuration for different sources. It would be hard to do this right now because translators are source-agnostic.
