We deliberately reduce the player speed if they're moving in the opposite direction they're facing.
One playtester didn't get that. He thought that movement was always slower when he went left.
It was intended to force players to choose when to kite and when to turn heel and run, but it's not effective. Consider removing the imposed speed-reduction. Or, if you decide to keep it in, you need to communicate it to the player much better somehow.
