Princeton's WebTAP recently discovered several tracking scripts utilizing AudioContext API and its related interfaces to reveal browser and device combination. Different device and browser might process audio signal differently and such difference is used for fingerprinting. This differs from tracking using inaudible audio. However, currently such script could only be found in 512 sites of the top 1 million sites.
