I want to study the behavior of Ar gas and the ions (generated in the plasma) in the interface section of an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS). As in the interface of ICP-MS, the gas flow is in the transition and partly in the free molecular regimes, I used dsmcFoam+ for simulating the Ar gas flow through the interface and the results are acceptable. Now, I want to investigate the behavior of ions carried by the Ar gas flow passing through the interface and see possible ion-ion or ion-electron recombinations or perhaps ambipolar diffusion. Which solver do you suggest for this physics? I can explain more if I am not clear enough.
I would really appreciate it if anybody can help me.
Thank you so much in advance,
Hamid
