My creative department chose Lato as our main style guide font several years ago. I spent almost 45 minutes on the phone with Microsoft troubleshooting a PowerPoint display issue with Lato text to no avail. Two scenarios & two variants of this bug: The text will either have different spacing &/or certain pairs of letters will combine to form a single ligature glyph (for example, fi will alternate between displaying as fi & ; depending on the percentage that zoom is set at (seems to be ever second zoom level as adjusted with Ctrl+Scroll Wheel) &/or depending on which slide is being displayed (seems to be every second slide), causing the text to appear to dance back & forth when slides advance. The issue is both in the presentation edit workspace & in projected view, despite two slides having been duplicated with the exact same text & other formatting. This is only observed with text that is formatted in Lato. I ended up using Trebuchet MS for the whole presentation. We can't use Lato in PowerPoint presentations until this is fixed.
