Smooth scrolling & movement: Known issues

Smooth scrolling and movement is still work in progress. The following issues are known and will be addressed in future updates:

  • Moving parts of the map (e.g. falling rocks, falling platform in 2nd level of episode 2, etc.) are not smoothed yet. This leads to very jarring jerky movement when Duke is standing on top of a falling piece of the map. (fixed in 0.8.4)
  • There are visual glitches with the smash hammer and ceiling mounted grabber claw enemies/hazards. (fixed in 0.8.4)
  • Some enemies that should be smoothed aren't smoothed yet
    • Wall-mounted flame thrower robot
    • Floating metal balls that shoot laser
  • Slime blobs look a bit strange when transitioning between flying and crawling
  • There are sometimes small hitches/stutters when smooth scrolling, even if the frame rate remains constant
