Please, give us an option to keep the original filename

I noticed whenever I add any program to menu, it is moved to default directory and file name is altered, usually removing the version number when it exists.
Is there any possibility to keep the original filename?
Running archlinux + gearlever (from aur) + Cinnamon DE, it that matters...

I am kind of abusing GearLever by having the AppImages directory on Syncthing and I have been wondering about the same flathub version giving different names between Arch and Fedora, which I hope this issue would resolve.

I ended up in a workaround of choosing to clone AppImages instead of moving them and symlinking the Arch name to Fedora's portable folder after which I noticed the Arch was missing fuse2, but I am yet to verify if that fixed it.

I am not concerned of duplicated disk use since I am running duperemove anyway.
