I've tried the falling_extras mod and it could contain valuable code for forcing pontoons to float to the surface on placement.

I managed to create negative gravity with the mod simply by modifying this line as Wuzzy suggested was possible.

Here's how it behaved when gravity was negated. That's half the feature, right? It needs to watch for air and stop at the surface though.

@tacotexmex I hope that I understand this correctly, but pontoons are supposed to be built upon, correct? So wouldn't this solution cause pontoon to levitate the whole "built-upon it" island in case water level increases? Thanks.

@minertestdude They would work like falling nodes but in reverse direction, so no. They’d stop rising whenever a node is placed upon them.
