I have the same issue on linux on Python 3.13. Works fine on Python 3.12

Thank you for reporting this issue. It appears to be related to a change introduced in Python version 3.13, as detailed in the Defined mutation semantics for locals() section. This issue will be resolved in the upcoming release of pyunormalize (version 16.0.0), which will be available soon.
