Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Cloud currently defaults on iOS to:

  • iPhone 11 running iOS 15.5

If you target 17, it still runs on an iPhone 11, but targets 17.0

iPhone 11 is many generations old, and the latest stable version of 17 has been 17.5 for a while. This is what the majority of iOS users will be using.

Describe the solution you'd like
A more recent iPhone model to match what the majority of users use - when targeting 17 I would have expected it to run on an iPhone 15 using iOS 17.5 being honest.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Additional context
iOS version market share

Regarding the iPhone model – I think it's pretty fine to use literally whatever – the "iPhone model" on Simulator is basically just the device frame, doesn't affect anything else afaik.

I think the action item here for us is to:

  • add support for latest iOS 18 as soon as it comes out in a month or so
  • change default iOS version to either 17 or 18
