Picto-Selector is a tool for open AAC symbols which basically consists of very similar symbol sets like opensymbols.org (e.g. ARASAAC, Mulberry Symbols, Sclera).
Picto-Selector is superior for non-english-speaking people since it better supports to search for symbols in different languages.

My idea is to somehow use the multi-language metadata already existing for Picto-Selector and also add it to opensymbols.org. I've contacted the creator of Pictoselector (Martijn van der Kooij [email protected]) and he generously provided a big .json file containing the translations of symbol metadata.

The challenge to transfer the translations opensymbols.org would be to map the correct symbols. But first let me know if you are interested in doing this, then we could discuss more details.

Preliminary international support does exist, if you look at the API docs you can see that you can search by locale (https://www.opensymbols.org/api). However, most of that data has just come from CoughDrop user translations, so it's probably messy.. I'll happily accept additional input on translations if you want to send it over!

This are the translations as used in Picto-Selector. The hard thing will probably to find a mapping between your internal id's and the local_filename in this jsaon file.
