Bigger example data

Could you please make a big (5 MB) binary file of raw HDC data?
I want to analyze it with ffmpeg.

I'll see if I can get a better recording. However, I'm pretty certain that ffmpeg, or any AAC decoder, won't decode it.

So far as I can tell, the idea that HDC and AAC are related is because there was a common company involved in the design of both. Maybe they are, maybe they aren't to any useful degree, but in any case trying to get the ffmpeg people interested in the audio codec side of things is absolutely something that should be done. They do this kind of thing pretty regularly.

It would be great to have an SDR based HD radio receiver. I hope the thing that hasn't been done up to now is simply coordination of the relevant skills. After all, there are two pieces to this puzzle. You have one here, the radio receiver. The codec is a very different thing. Hopefully the ffmpeg guys would be interested, or could at least say what kind of samples they need,
