What happened:

To find the versions:

  • Device - Look underneath battery, more reliable than via software.
  • Firmware - go with the name of the ftf file, if you haven't renamed it.
  • fastboot - type fastboot --version.
  • OS & Version - This is currently limited to mostly Linux-based OSes, which is found at lsb_release -a description field.

Device: Play R800i
Firmware: R800i_4.0.2.A.0.58_Enhanced.ftf & R800i_4.0.2.A.0.69_World.ftf
fastboot Version: 1:8.1.0+r23-5ubuntu2
OS & Version: Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
What happened: ✅ Was able to boot and operate device on both firmwares.
