Seriously. We lack some.
Needs to be checked upon.

Might be more than just:

ゔ vu
ヴ vu

as in violin ヴァイオリン https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%B4%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%82%AA%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3

Of course you can also write it like バイオリン (baiorin "violin")

Hmm, I knew some katakana was missing, but wasn't aware hiragana also were. That said, I don't think it's worth adding in more hiragana, because the remaining ones like ゔ are extremely rarely seen, I would think. As far as I can tell, most extensions originate from sounds foreign to Japanese, and words containing them are almost never written in hiragana.

As for the katakana, yes, the extensions to katakana are interesting and possibly worth adding. But there are a couple issues with that too:

  • There are quite a few extensions, as you can see in the link above. Is it really a good idea to include all of them? Trying to memorize all of them adds a fair amount of extra work (for learners) for arguably little reward.
  • It's not actually too hard to figure out the sounds of most katakana extensions. Something like トゥ (tu) might get you the first time you see it, but then it makes sense since you already know what ト and ウ sound like. On the other hand, ones like ヴ (vu) are admittedly harder to figure out.

It's worth thinking more about, especially once I have more free time (something I keep lacking very much). Even if I don't add them to the exercises, at the very least, it's a topic worth mentioning somewhere on the page.

Also consider that I have found threads were windows IME prevent the user to write ヴ
For me personally, the lesson is that they exist, and that one should know about them.
Not necessarily remember all of them.

But to know which rule to apply in order to read them.

Yep, agreed. I'll try to incorporate it one way or another, even if not necessarily as a part of the exercises.
