Installing Forge

First you need to install Forge. This will not be detailed here, however there are plenty of other guides on the internet covering this exact topic. You may also make yourself familiar with the usual process of installing mods for Forge.

Downloading FlansMod and Content-Packs

Head over to https://github.com/FlansMods/FlansMod/releases and scroll to the needed Version. If your are uncertain which version you need, always take the latest version (The highest version number). FlansMod is NOT cross minecraft version compatible, so you need to take a release for your minecraft version.

At the bottom of the changelog is an "Assets"-button, clicking it reveals a bunch of files. You need:

1. The FlansMod-jar, usually named something like Flan.s.Mod-XYZ.jar
2. Content-Packs, usually named something like [Name]-Content.Pack-XYZ.jar

XYZ usually encodes the Minecraft and FlansMod versions, [Name] is the name of the Content-Pack

Unofficial Content Packs

There are many content packs available that are not created and not supported by the FlansMod development team. These are, in general, compatible as long as the Minecraft is the same. You will find many on the official FlansMod website

Installing FlansMod

After downloading all of the mentioned files, follow these steps:

1. Put the FlansMod-jar into the mods folder. Do not put anything else into the mods folder.
2. Start Minecraft
3. Close Minecraft
4. In the directory containing the mods folder, a new folder named Flans has been generated. Put all Content-Packs into this folder.

You now have successfully installed FlansMod. You may now continue installing other mods, or start up Minecraft to enjoy FlansMod.
