Dataset creation

I think your project is really cool and very helpful!
It's not clear how and with what stack you built your dataset.
I am trying to build the same service for my city, and I found it hard to do it with script(scraping municode).

The dataset was done manually. I was under a deadline and didn't know if I could pull off a scraper. So, I just copied the pdfs' text into a .json file and then formatted it by hand. A scraper would be a better method and better than that, would be interfacing directly with the government's site.

Hey Austen,

Sorry for the late response. I ended up working on a larger solution for a more extensive problem.
I'm about to launch the first version, which will address a smaller portion of the overarching issue for validation purposes.

By the way, are you an urban planner?

Everyone gets busy. That sounds really exciting! I'd love to see it.
I worked for two and a half years as an urban planner before going on to do a role in rendering and then design. I recently finished computer science school and have been looking to do software engineering.
