summer-project

A basic chat app developed using MERN stack along with GraphQL and Apollo.

Used Vercel to deploy the frontend of the project.

Used Heroku to deploy the backend of the project.

To run this project

• Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/Jaay7/summer-project.git

• For backend:

1. First navigate to the backend directory:

cd backend

2. Installing the dependencies:

npm install

3. Create a new file .env with:

MONGODB_URI = <MONGODB_URI>
APP_SECRET = <APP_SECRET>
APP_REFRESH_SECRET = <APP_REFRESH_SECRET>

4. To start the server:

npm start

Open http://localhost:4000/graphql to view it in the browser. It will open the graphql playground.

• For Frontend:

1. First navigate to the frontend directory:

cd frontend

2. Install the dependencies.

yarn

3. Running the App:

yarn start

Open http://localhost:3001 to view it in the browser.
