Significant events and milestones of the Dancer2 project

2009-07-27

Alexis Sukrieh, inspired by Ruby's Sinatra, makes initial release of the original Dancer framework, version 0.099, with 21 keywords (well, 18). It is the first known domain-specific language (DSL) for web applications written in Perl.

First Dancer website launched.

2011-04

Dancer rewritten from scratch. Dancer2 is born.

New Dancer website launched.

Sukrieh makes first commit to Dancer2 project to GitHub.

It is determined that Moo, a package for developing object-oriented Perl code, will provide the foundation for Dancer2.
