An example:

        v 0 . 2 . 0 . 1
            ^ ^ ^ ^
            | | | |
Reference: [1] [2] [3] [4]
  1. This is the number indicating what main version it’s on.

  2. This is the number that will change if a new sub-version has launched such as a new language being added or many smaller changes that have happened to make it differ quite much from the previous subversion that makes it 'new'.

  3. This is the number that will change if there is made a 'major' change such as adding newly announced events, it won’t change if many 'under the hood' changes had happened.

  4. This number will change if there are small changes in the calendar such as a spelling mistake or something similar.

Sometimes you’ll see versions like v0.2 instead of v0.2.0.0, this is done because of it being a new/'raw' version. If there happens to be a small patch needed in that sub-version, the version number will go e.g. from v0.2 → v0.2.0.1.
