@mdelhoneux I merged this on my own because it was a tiny and necessary fix, but I think it warrants a new release, along with the other improvements since 2.3. Do I have your permission? |

Resuming training from pickled parameters was not possible (#25 ) because we tried to open the file in text instead of binary mode, this PR fixes that.
