What to do if a stat or control is red and the extraction fails?

A red color of a stat indicates that the value cannot be combined by any combination of wild- and domesticated levels within the given range of the taming effectiveness and / or the imprinting-bonus. A red control marks a possible source of the issue, e.g. if the taming-effectiveness is red, the error maybe can be resolved by enlarging the taming-effectiveness-range.

Solutions to the most frequent causes

  • wrong input of numbers ➤ double-check the values you typed in
  • wrong species selected ➤ choose correct species
  • the taming-efficiency-range is too narrow ➤ enlarge the range
  • the total levels are incorrect ➤ double-check the levels
  • Imprinting-bug: the game sometimes "forgets" to increase the stat-values after a caring-action ➤ usually that gets resolved after the creature is cyroed, up- and downloaded with an obelisk or sometimes after a server-restart.
  • wrong determination of the tamed/wild-status ➤ set the status of the creature manually
  • you're on an unofficial server with different multipliers ➤ ask your admin to give you the numbers and adjust the ones in the Settings
  • you're on an unofficial server with a mod that changes the stats of some creatures (e.g. classicFlyers) ➤ select the used mods in the mod manager (menu Settings - Mod manager…). For mods that are not supported by ASB, you can create a values file yourself if you have the according stat-values, for more info see Mod-Values.
  • you're playing on a console and the used values.json-file has been updated according to the pc-version, but the console-version hasn't been updated ➤ download an older version of the tool, but only use the file values.json from it, by copying it to the uptodate tool. If the tool wants to update that file, ignore that, until the console-version is updated as well.
