The <web-map> Custom Element is a prototype implementation of the HTML-Map-Element specification.
The objective of this web component is to demonstrate the feasibility of modifying / upgrading / augmenting the <map> HTML element to support modern Web mapping requirements. As such, it relies on Map Markup Language which delivers map information as hypertext. This element depends on the MapML Leaflet Client javascript library.
MapML and the web-map custom element area being developed by the W3C Maps For HTML Community Group. Membership in that group is encouraged, however you do not have to join to use the information found here.
