Hello I have a few questions,

1. I made the project, everything seems to work fine but when I want to use the web interface it only connects when I am on my raspberry pi itselfs so I can open the browser and change the settings like normal, but I am not able to connect from another pc or phone to the ip adress, what can I do to fix this?

2. My raspberry pi zero w is running pretty hot with the screen on, does the program still runs when I shutdown the raspberry pi but it has power or is there any way I can run the code without the display running so It gets less hot?

Hi Stef De Vos,

Firstly, I have never installed my software on the Desktop version of Raspbian. I have only installed the software on the lite version. However, I can't imagine why it would function any differently.

1. If you are able to connect only when you are on the raspberry pi itself, it sounds like you might be using just the local IP address of the raspberry pi in the web browser. If you open a new terminal window on your pi and use the command ifconfig, you should be able to find out your IP address on your network (it likely starts with 192.169, or 10.).

2. You definitely should be able to run the code without a display plugged in because this is how most of us run it using the lite version of Raspbian.

awesome quick respons!
With this tip I am able to connect to the raspberry pi from another device! I was indeed using the local adress of the pi,
I didn't know because I have very little experience with this haha (only javascript).
I just downloaded the rasbian software from the website, should I use the little version for the zero w, because as you said it's not needed to have the desktop version. What version do you advice me, rasbian little? sorry very new to python, but I'm learning very quick :)

No problem! If you are only going to use that Pi for the clock, then I would suggest you use lite was you don’t need the desktop for anything else. I would also suggest you enable SSH on the pi so that you can connect to it remotely on your network and configure it without having to plug in a keyboard or sceeen to it.
