Example Mafia Roles

Here are some of the roles we'd like to be able to implement. They represent a fairly broad range of capability, so we should keep them in mind.

Basic

Townie: Can only vote. Well, and talk, and die. Knows only own role (for sure).

Mafioso: One member of the mafia can perform a kill at night. Knows roles of all mafia.

Doctor: Can "save" a murder victim at night (i.e. prevents a kill from ocurring).

Detective: Can check the alignment (town/mafia) of a single person at night.

Godfather: Appears like a Townie to the Detective.

Disruptive

Roleblocker: Prevents their target from acting (for 1 night).

Redirector: Changes someone's primary target to someone else (for 1 night).

Burglar: Switches roles with their target.

Passive

Bulletproof: Can't be killed at night (but can be lynched).

Bomber: Their death causes the death of their killer (except lynching).

Vengeful: If they are lynched, they can kill someone else as well.

Additional Alignments

Serial Killer: Third party. Wins when everyone else is dead. Can kill at night.

Survivor: Third party. Wins when the game ends and they have survived.

Lovers: Paired. Have their own chat and can win together (regardless of alignment).

Cult Leader: Separate alignment. Recruits townies at night into the cult (they become Cultists).

Necromancer: Separate alignment. Revives dead players (they become Zombies).
