Russian language file
If the file path includes the current date, the pattern replaces the
date in the file path instead of the date of the backup date. This minor
change uses the greediness of the .* pattern to match on the last
occurrence of the date.

This test checks if the pattern used to list the backups gets confused
with date in the file path.
Net::Lite::FTP has been removed from Debian (back in 2010) and Net::FTP gained TLS and SSL support in the meantime.
Migrate from Net::Lite::FTP back to Net::FTP
By default gzip stores the filename and timestamp of the contained file,
this prohibits any posibility of detecting dupes (when the files are not
generated in the same second as done by the current dupes test).
Force gzip to ignore the filename and timestamp
Drop extra continue when file already exists
The .lz extension is normally used for lzip-compressed files, whereas
.lzma should be used for lzma-compressed files.
