websockets-chat

Exploring websockets by building a basic chat application.

Prerequisites

The following software have been used for this project.

1. NodeJS

   • node version 10.16.3
   • npm version 6.9.0

2. Windows 10 64-bit OS

Installation

1. Clone this repository.
   git clone https://github.com/weaponsforge/websockets-chat.git

2. Install dependencies.
   npm install

3. Run the web server.
   npm run start

4. Load the app on a web browser and enter your username.
   http://localhost:3000

5. Load the app on another web browser tab and start chatting with yourself.
   http://localhost:3000
