V0.4 Profiles Stabilization

An Imported Stabilization Profile

The stabilization profile determines where your extruder will be when a snapshot takes place. If you are using any of the Snap to Print triggers, your extruder will be stabilized as close to the stabilization position as possible while remaining over the print.

Stabilization can be disabled, which has different effects on different triggers. In most cases the extruder position will appear to be somewhat random if stabilization is disabled, with the exception of the Snap to Print triggers. If stabilization is disabled, the Snap to Print trigger will cause stabilization to occur at a point closest to the previous snapshot (or nearest to the first layer change if no snapshots have been taken).

If you are using the Snap To Print - Smooth trigger, the stabilization position will only affect the very first snapshot. After that, Octolapse will try to stabilize at the nearest point to the previous snapshot for a nice (usually) smooth wandering extruder effect.

If you are having trouble with the stabilization position, see this troubleshooting guide. The problem is likely a printer profile setting issue, and this is discussed within the guide above.
