External Databases

Hello Contest uses several external databases to find out more details about a callsign, and to predict the exchange for this callsign.

Amateur Radio Country List

This list is provided and curated by Jim, AD1C. It contains information about callsign prefixes, their corresponding DXCC entity, and additional data (for example the itu and cq zone).

The amateur radio country list is automatically downloaded and updated by Hello Contest. The file is stored as ~/.config/hamradio/cty.dat.

Super Check Partial Database

The Super Check Partial database was first introduced by Ken, K1EA in his CT logging software. It contains callsigns of contesters that were recently active in the ten of the most popular contests. The database is updated on a monthly schedule. For details, please refer to the super check partial web site.

The super check partial database is automatically downloaded and updated by Hello Contest. The file is stored as .config/hamradio/MASTER.SCP.

Call History Files

A call history files contains the callsigns and exchanges (plus optional additional information) of contesters that were active in a specific contest. The most prominent source of call history files is the N1MM logging software. Hello Contest is also able to export a call history from a contest log.

Since the call history files are very individual for each contest, they are not automatically downloaded. Please refer to Contest Settings, Call History for more information about how to use a call history file in Hello Contest.
