First Steps
On the first start, Hello Contest uses the default configuration and creates an empty contest log named current.log in the current working directory. No contest definition is selected. To do anything useful, you must first adapt the configuration settings to your needs.
Edit the configuration file
Open the configuration file using "File > Open Configuration File..." in the main menu.
Edit the configuration to your needs, see Configuration for a detailed description of all configuration settings.
Restart Hello Contest to apply the changes in the configuration file.
To start a new contest, use the menu item "File > New" from the main menu.
This opens a dialog that lets you select a contest definition and enter a name for the contest.
When closing this dialog with the "New" button, a file selection dialog shows up that lets you select where you want to store the contest log file. The contest name is also proposed as filename, but you may change the filename to your liking.
As a last step, the settings dialog opens.

When you close this dialog you are ready to log QSOs.
