Open Issues and Status of the work

  • [Martin presented the latest steps in the document]
  • Martin: The model is split in two: competition and competitors. Just to make more understandable diagrams and the document.
  • ... Revised the BBC Sports Ontology, including the same names they used. The model is still compatible with the one we had (only a few major changes).
  • ... Included all the information regarding codes of competitions. All the codes Nicolas sent are included. Also all from IOC ODF.
  • ... Also included examples of implementation of the model. I used intuitive graphs, really easy to understand.
  • ... I'll continue with more examples.

Disciplines

  • Martin: I changed the disciplines taxonomy [https://github.com/w3c/opentrack-cg/blob/master/spec/model/disciplines.md]. I think this is now stable because we include all the official (EA, IAAF) high-level disciplines, and in the first level the ODF disciplines (races, throws, vertical and horizontal jumps)
  • Chiheb: Does it include indoor stadia types?
  • Martin: Yes. It's included in the parent as a main feature of Discipline.
  • AndyW: How do we represent for instance XC relays.
  • Martin: There is a property about types of competition (it could be time trial, relays, etc.).

AOB

  • Andy: In a few weeks we will start representing information about people and roles involved in the competition. All people included systems supplier, volunteers, etc.
  • Martin: We have an early list of roles (https://github.com/w3c/opentrack-cg/blob/master/spec/model/overview.md#roles). This part will be easy, all are Persons with a specific role. Only difficulties to create the list of roles.
  • [Andy showing flags on results]
  • Andy: We will create a flags repository. Open to all. Everyone will be able to submit their flag.
  • ... Now we have all the international flags. We could set recommendations about sizes and format.
  • Antonio: I suggest using SVG. It's more appropriate.
  • Andy: The only problem is tools, but I agree.
  • Martin: +1 to SVG
  • ... I'll continue with the model, now analysing SportsML and other vocabularies related.
  • ... I'll send you an update later this week.
  • ... Thanks!
